Writers for this site have the following qualifications:

  • They have been through enough in life to write from experience and, hopefully, with some depth and wisdom. It’s not just about having a degree or professional accreditations.
  • They want to pass life’s wisdom along to others and younger generations.
  • Some will fall into the category of “elders” (or ancient if you prefer). Some will acquire wisdom in their younger years. Some will talk to their dog or cat to help understand life.
  • They like to do their homework and provide truthful statements to readership as best they can.
  • They have a strong dislike of spin, lies, false news, and other forms of male-bovine posterior discharge.
  • They are willing to take risks to seek the betterment of society. Sometimes, challenging the status quo isn’t popular.
  • They think in word pictures and like memes.
  • They probably like Fiction, and most will like funny movies and nature.
  • They know that writer’s block isn’t made of pine or oak.
  • Temporary blockheaded-getting-stuck isn’t an excuse to use AI. They would rather go for a walk, sip an espresso, take a nap, or sit by a lake. They like original and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • They own a blue hat (just kidding).

We use Scrivener, Word, InDesign and Affinity Publisher. We use other programs for a variety of pre-publication needs.

We do some work in Libre Office.

ProWritingAid (PWA) is a good friend. But we have been known to skip over some recommendations and write in the passive voice when we are out of coffee. PWA will jerk our chain. Faithfully.

Writers know that libraries are a good thing, but can’t figure out why Basset Hounds aren’t allowed in most. It’s a mystery.

Finally, they know how to laugh at their own mistakes in life. That’s what bowls of popcorn are for.
