The Portal

The Portal for CR2 (this website) is the most common landing “spot” for the world of Reimagine – Rethink Community. We don’t mean a marketing “landing page.”  We think of it as the main website (or start point, depending on your area of interest).

We use it as our primary “foundation” to form and place content.

The Portal explains some core concepts and where to find content.

It’s the best place to go if you are unsure of where you are on The Portal. Like … you just bought a white car and parked it in this parking lot. Don’t worry (too much)—the sun is going down.

Murphy’s Law is intact: your FOB beeper isn’t working or the freeway noise drowns it out.

Writer’s note to self: “Don’t buy a white car next time.” Yes, the writer has a white car …

Reimagine is all about engaging in discussion and reflecting on what Community might be for you and whomever is joining with you in your Journey (Trek).  It uses two building blocks (TrekBuild) to begin shaping your vision.

It dives into everything from The System that messes up the world we live in to Climate Change. It challenges. It invites discussion. It has fun. It pokes fun at The Old Guard.

It encourages “thinking” outside the box. By that we mean thinking from the heart, “right brain” and creativity birthed in your group of people that you work and journey with. An enlightening dream is fair game. We acknowledge the work of the subconscious parts of our being and existence.

Go deeper! Imagine what your life looks like as you explore your reimagined world in the City or Country. Have some fun imagining your Life and Lifestyle. Pretend to be a farmer. Go for a walk in the woods. Carve an old stump into a chair.

Or, if you are moving to the City from the Country, what will that be like if you dream a bit?

What does Reimagine look like?

  • Reimagine My City
  • Reimagine My Country Life
  • Reimagine My Country Lifestyle
  • Reimagine My Farm
  • Reimagine My Village
  • Reimagine My Neighborhood
  • Reimagine My Basics of Life

We do paradigm shifts beyond just “thinking outside the box.”

Rethink is all about taking the initial creative flow from Reimagine and then creating some “blueprints” or “concept models”.

Rethink activities might be more formal than on a sketch pad or with a flurry of phone calls—as in a formal blueprint and model and project plan.  But it relies on your Reimagining of whatever you wish to build out for your Community.

Smaller and more informal initiatives don’t need the more involved planning steps.

What matters is the flow of Creativity arising from Reimagine and then becoming more practical and tangible. Action points. To-do lists.

Thoughts are beginning to form at greater depth and a concrete fashion in Rethink. You are moving from a creative exercise to something more concrete and tangible.

From there, you move down to more specifics to your situation:

Do Reimagine and Rethink Work Together?

Yes, they do.

While the different sides of our brain (“hemispheres”) have different areas of focus and function, it’s not like they don’t work together. Well, hopefully that’s the picture before morning coffee!!!

As well, our innermost being, sense and feelings play an important part. What does your heart or “gut” desire?

Reimagine discusses this area at greater depth. There’s lots of fun going on in Reimagine. It isn’t super “technical” and has lots of animal characters. Reimagine, frequently, is more playful.

Reimagine can be more irreverent in places: it is designed to challenge areas in thinking and “protocols” in thought patterns.

We know that you will get moments of creative inspiration (in the Reimagine zone) and other times it is all just about Rethink.

When you have a really good “brainstorming” session, you will get a sense for the interplay between Reimagine and Rethink. All you need to do is put the left-brain people on one side of the table and the right-brain people on the other side and watch the fun. It is in the back and forth between the different processes of thought and personality types that the best solutions surface.

The interplay of Reimagine and Rethink is meant to be fun, stimulating, engaging, and thoughtful. Watch for the process in action in yourself and others … and let it lead you to good places for Community.
